JOY
Community Guidelines
Effective: June 27, 2026 · Joy Health Technologies LLC
JOY is a private, family-only space. Content shared on JOY goes directly to a senior loved one's daily session — often someone who is vulnerable, older, and trusting. These guidelines exist to protect that experience and to ensure JOY remains the warm, joyful space it was built to be.
1. The Spirit of JOY
JOY is not a social media platform. There are no public feeds, no likes, no comment threads. Content is shared within a private family group — typically a caregiver uploading photos and messages for one senior loved one. The entire purpose is warmth, connection, and joy.
When you upload content to JOY, ask yourself: Would I want my grandmother to see this first thing in the morning? If not, it doesn't belong in JOY.
2. What Is Welcome
- ✓
- Personal family photos (gatherings, milestones, everyday moments, childhood, vacations)
- Group photos labeled with an occasion or event name
- Warm, loving written messages to your loved one
- Voice messages that express affection, share updates, or tell stories
- Voice questions that invite your loved one to share their memories and stories
- Captions that give context for a photo ("This was at Sarah's graduation, May 2019")
- Photos of pets, favorite places, meaningful objects, and shared memories
3. What Is Not Allowed
- ✗
- Disturbing or upsetting content: Do not upload photos or record messages that could cause distress, anxiety, or sadness to your loved one. This includes images of illness, injury, conflict, or loss.
- Sexually explicit content: No content of a sexual or suggestive nature.
- Violence or graphic imagery: No violent, graphic, or disturbing imagery of any kind.
- Content involving minors in inappropriate contexts.
- Hateful, discriminatory, or abusive language in written messages or voice recordings.
- Content intended to manipulate or deceive your loved one (e.g., false information designed to cause a reaction).
- Unauthorized third-party content: Do not upload photos, music, or other media you do not own or have rights to share.
- Commercial advertising or solicitation of any kind.
- Anything illegal under applicable law.
4. Content Moderation
JOY is a private, family-to-family platform. We do not proactively review content uploaded to private family accounts. However, we reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these guidelines if brought to our attention.
If you believe content is being used to harm a senior user, please contact us immediately at joy@joyhealthtechnologies.com.
5. Elder Safety
JOY takes the safety and dignity of older adults seriously. Using JOY to manipulate, deceive, isolate, emotionally abuse, or exploit a senior user is a violation of these guidelines and may be reported to relevant authorities. Signs of elder abuse via technology should be reported to the National Elder Fraud Hotline: 1-833-FRAUD-11 (US).
6. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in: removal of specific content, temporary account suspension, or permanent account termination, at our sole discretion. We are not obligated to provide advance notice for severe violations.
