Caregiver Guidelines

You are the heart of JOY. The photos you upload, the voice messages you record, the stories you share โ€” these become your loved one's daily morning moment. These guidelines help you make the most of JOY while keeping the experience warm, safe, and meaningful for the person you care for.

2. Best Practices for Photo Uploads

๐Ÿ’ก Setup goal: Upload at least 5 photos before activating the app for your loved one. JOY shows one photo per session โ€” 5 photos = 5 days of unique Family Memory content. 10+ photos = a great rotation.

4. Memory Exercises (Quiz)

The "Who is this person?" quiz is OFF by default for all users. It can be enabled in your loved one's Profile Settings (Profile โ†’ Account โ†’ Memory Exercises).

Consider enabling it only if your loved one is working on memory engagement as part of a wellness goal. For cognitively sharp users, leaving it OFF means they see a warm "I remember [Name]!" button instead of a quiz โ€” which is a much more dignified experience for most users.

The quiz requires at least 2 photos of different people to function. When enabled, wrong answers show gentle encouragement โ€” no negative feedback.
