DMCA Policy
Effective: June 27, 2026  ·  Joy Health Technologies LLC
Joy Health Technologies LLC respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. This policy describes how to submit a copyright infringement notice and how we handle counter-notices.

1. Context

JOY is a private, family-only application. Content uploaded to JOY (photos, voice messages) is stored in private Firebase Storage and is accessible only to authorized users within a specific family account — it is not publicly visible. Copyright infringement claims against JOY are therefore rare, but we take all claims seriously and process them promptly.

2. How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content stored or displayed through JOY infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent containing all of the following elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or if multiple works are covered, a representative list.
  2. Identification of the infringing material: A description of the material you claim is infringing and sufficient information for us to locate it (e.g., the approximate date of upload, the account involved if known).
  3. Your contact information: Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Good faith statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
  6. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

4. Counter-Notice

If you believe content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court for your location (or if outside the US, any judicial district where we may be found)

Send counter-notices to: joy@joyhealthtechnologies.com (Subject: DMCA Counter-Notice). We will forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10 business days, the content may be restored.

5. Repeat Infringers

We maintain a policy of terminating accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion.

6. Misuse of DMCA Process

Filing a false DMCA notice or counter-notice may expose you to civil liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), including damages, attorneys' fees, and costs. Only submit a DMCA notice if you have a good faith belief that your copyright has been infringed.
